After Hamilton was sent home by Washington, Eliza confronts Hamilton and attempts to convince him to stay home rather than go to war with her catchphrase, "Look around, look around at how lucky we are/To be alive right now". Eliza was early in her pregnancy, but Hamilton still wants to go to war and leave a legacy on the battlefield rather than see his son. Eliza ends the song with the line "Let this moment be the first chapter/Where you decide to stay" but even until his death, Hamilton would never choose to "stay". Instead, he consistently chose work over his family.
